The Chairman
The Petrofund Deed of Trustee permits appointment of Board of Trustees from petroleum exploration companies holding oil and gas exploration licences in Namibia as well as the Ministry of Mines and Energy, National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia and Ministry of Education.
The Board of Trustees is chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Mines and Energy. Except for the Board Chairman, Trustees have three-year tenure of office. Appointment of trustees is exercised through the Minister in the case of a government institution or managing director of a company in case of Namcor and through consultative consensus in the case of petroleum exploration companies respectively. All other institutions are permitted to nominate at least two representatives while petroleum exploration companies are allowed at least three representatives.
Board Appointments
Trustee are appointed by Ministers in case of government agencies, consortium of petroleum companies in case of petroleum exploration companies and managing directors of companies with regards to private companies.
